Sikh Festivals and Special Days
Sikhs celebrate everyday that the Guru has blessed them with breath.
Special days are marked to commemorate historical events as indicated below
Gurpurabhs- These are the days that the Gurus were born
Martydoms - Sikhs remember the days that the Gurus and their Sikhs were sacrificed

On Vaisākhī Day, over 300 years ago in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Jī (the tenth Nanak) summoned a national reunion on the mountain hills of Anandpur Sāhib in Panjāb. At the gathering, he transferred the temporal power vested in him to the ‘Khālsā Panth' (the people) and the spiritual authority, to the sacred Scripture, the ‘Guru Granth Sāhib Jī'

Guru Hargobind was released from captivity and he freed 52 hill Rajas from prison with him.
