Readers of the Qur'an are constantly exhorted, in verses such as those from the Chapter of the Ant, above, to examine the physical world carefully. Reflecting upon the order, symmetry, vastness and abundance of the earth strengthens Muslims' awareness of their Creator. It also fosters their sense of responsibility for the resources they use for their survival.
