Song to the Goddess of Wealth:

Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of Wealth and Beauty. She is often shown wearing a red sari, seated on a lotus and holding lotuses in her hands. She is also shown bestowing blessings and offering gold coins to her devotes. The English word 'luck' is likely to have originated from the Hindu word 'Lakshmi'
